The ultimate guided one-on-one salmon fishing experience! Catch your own chinook salmon in the glacial waters next to our cafe. No gear required (all provided) and no fishing experience needed. Take home your cleaned (gilled and gutted) whole salmon, or you can ask for it to be filleted for you (extra charge applies). This is a family-friendly attraction - either catch a fish yourself or sit in our landscaped garden and watch the excitement. This is a big fish experience - no tiddlers here and expect them to put up a fight as you reel them in! (Please note: catching a salmon is not guaranteed - see bottom note below).
Further information:
- $20 non-refundable fee which includes the one-on-one guided experience and gear hire. This applies to walk-ins as well.
- Salmon is weighed after being caught and the cost is $35 per kg landed weight.
- All fish are gilled and gutted for free. Filleting costs $12 per fish.
- There is complimentary packaging with ice and either an insulated bag or a polybox.
- You must purchase what you catch - there is no catch and release.
- Please book online to guarantee your spot. Choose a time and go through to checkout. You will receive a booking confirmation by email.
- We may accept walk-ins, depending on guide availability on the day.
- Please only book for the number of fish you want to catch and pay for e.g. to only catch one fish, only book one spot regardless of how many people in your group. If you want to catch 2 fish, book for 2 salmon. DO NOT change the quantity in the cart.
- Catch-A-Fish currently operates between 9am and 4pm daily. Hours are staffing dependent.
- The pond contains salmon between 2kg and 5kg. If you catch a salmon over the 5kg upper limit, you can swap this for a smaller fish (subject to availability).
- Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.
- It is highly likely you will catch a salmon, but this is not guaranteed. If you don't catch a fish, your $20 experience fee will not be refunded. This charge will cover the guide's time, equipment use and valuable fishing information given to you by our guides.

as fishes are in the central location, so pretty much can guarantee the catch(though officially said highly likely instead of guarantee), and kids enjoyed a lot, however, please remember to ask for the fish head and bone if you need when you put down order for filleting.

I live in Hong Kong so growing up I had loads of salmon sashimi in many top notch Japanese restaurants. Honestly fish caught here are just as good as those high end Japanese restaurants. The only thing is we ended up having too many fishes for two person and used 5 meals to finish all haha, be careful cos this farm raise fish as large as 3 kg and two person can hardly fishing two fish. The catching experience is also brilliant! Well instructed, fun and no fuss ! Highly recommend

Mr 6 yr old had a great experience fishing for the first time. He did need support from dad, but the guide was amazing. She had great patience and explained everything very clearly. She made the experience fun and memorable for us. Highly recommend.

Guide was amazing .. son loved the experience
Only negative was that it's bit of a money spinner for the company .. all the salmon that you can catch in the fishing pool are very big salmon .. all around 5 kg and bigger .. so you end up having to buy a near $200 fish at the end .. and taking home 4 kg of salmon meat ..
If they had 2 to 3 kg normal sized salmon to catch .. would make it far more practical and affordable for the average family
