Our Business

Floating on the glacial waters of Wairepo Arm, High Country Salmon is ideally situated on State Highway 8, just south of the town of Twizel.  SH8 is the main inland road from Christchurch to Queenstown, passing scenic Lake Tekapo and Aoraki Mt Cook before it reaches Twizel.

Our farm, processing, Fish Shop & Deli, Logans Cafe, and Catch-A-Fish Experience are all on site, ensuring the shortest supply chain available. We are extremely proud to say that 100% of our salmon is sold in New Zealand - through our shop and cafe and also couriered overnight to households, restaurants and cafes nationwide.

Logans Cafe and Restaurant

Visitors to High Country Salmon are able to have a meal at Logans floating café - and take in the idyllic scenery.  Logans has a mouth-watering selection of cabinet food including sashimi and sushi, as well as an all-day a la carte menu, a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and fantastic coffee.  Enjoy the "Glacier to Plate" experience - premium chinook salmon straight to your plate from the glacial waters of the southern alps.

You can enjoy your meal on our floating deck, under the veranda, or at a picnic table in the landscaped garden.  Visitors young and old enjoy free fish feeding at our viewing pen on the deck, with the buzzing activity of the working farm before them.

      

The Fish Shop & Deli

The Fish Shop & Deli offers a wide range of salmon products for customers to take home.  Choose from fresh, smoked or cured salmon in a variety of cuts.  There is also a fantastic range of carefully selected deli foods, merchandise and gifts. Our friendly team is happy to answer your questions and help you select the ideal product.  Whether it's for a special occasion or a quick healthy meal, we have plenty of options for you.

Catch-A-Fish Experience

If you'd like the thrill of catching your own salmon, have a go at our Catch-A-Fish Experience.  This fully guided activity is suitable for people of all ages, and no experience is required - but be prepared for action!
